As Anglicans, we uphold the following distinctives:
- The primacy and authority of Scripture over tradition, reason and experience;
- The Cranmer Triad- the Book of Common Prayer, the 39 Articles of Religion and the Ordinal (1552/1662);
- Reformation distinctive- The Five Solas (Scripture alone, grace alone, faith alone, Christ alone and the glory of God alone); and TULIP (total depravity, unconditional election, limited atonement, irresistible grace, and perseverance/ preservation of the saint);
- Respect for the pivotal role of Tradition, Anglican polity in governance (historic episcopate, diocesan and Provincial boundaries, Episcopally led and Synodically governed); the importance of the church; and commitment to worship, discipline, and doctrine of the early, patristic, medieval/ reformation and post-Reformation church that are in conformity with Scripture, Reformation principles, and the ethos of Anglicanism.
